Accessibility statement
This statement is voluntary. It does not assert a legal obligation that may not apply to this website — the assessment of that question is set out below.
Target standard
The target for this website is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at conformance level AA. WCAG 2.2 has been a World Wide Web Consortium Recommendation since 5 October 2023.
Among the things implemented and checked: contrast ratios for text and for separators and borders, reflow without horizontal scrolling at 320 pixels width, a visible keyboard focus, target sizes of at least 24 pixels, exactly one main heading per page with no skipped levels, marking of language changes within running text, and respect for the system setting for reduced motion.
How it was checked
The contrasts are calculated, not estimated: every colour pairing that appears one on top of the other on this website is checked against its threshold on every build — 4.5:1 for text, 3:1 for separators, borders and the focus ring.
Also checked on every build: the length and uniqueness of page titles and descriptions, the number of main headings and any skipped levels, the mutual consistency of canonical and hreflang, broken internal links, anchors without a target, and images without alternative text or without dimensions.
Known limits
The checking is automated and supplemented by our own review. It does not replace testing with assistive technology by the people affected; no such test has taken place.
The alternative texts for the photographs describe what can be seen in the picture. They cannot replace what a picture conveys as atmosphere.
The spam protection on the contact form is a third-party service. How well it can be operated with assistive technology is not in our hands. If it is not set up, the form accepts enquiries without it.
This statement says nothing about the accessibility of the house itself. We have no verified information on that; see the information page.
Does German accessibility law apply?
The German Accessibility Reinforcement Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) implements Directive (EU) 2019/882. It was promulgated in the Federal Law Gazette on 22 July 2021; its obligations have applied since 28 June 2025. Promulgation and applicability are therefore two different dates.
Whether it applies to this website turns on two points. First, the Act covers services in electronic commerce — that is, offerings under which a contract is concluded by electronic means. This website takes no booking, checks no availability and concludes no contract; it informs, and for the booking it refers to an external platform. Second, the Act exempts microenterprises from the obligations for services; a microenterprise is one that employs fewer than ten people and has an annual turnover or annual balance sheet total of no more than two million euros.
On both counts, more speaks for there being no statutory accessibility obligation for this website. A sound classification would require details about the operator that we do not yet have. We therefore assert neither an obligation nor conformity under the BFSG here — instead we name WCAG 2.2 AA as the target we have set ourselves.
